In our daily lives, everything we do – from what we wear to what we consume – contributes to carbon emissions and climate change. But the solution is refreshingly simple. By joining POZZ's daily activities, you'll unknowingly become a part of the movement to reduce waste, emissions, and pollution, all while making the planet a happier place.
In today's world, actions hold more sway than ever before. Consumer choices shape corporations, and public sentiment drives government policies. By making conscious choices and engaging with POZZ, we can collectively lead the charge toward a more sustainable and positive future.

How POZZ can reduce CO2 emissions by 1%

While producing content for a single TikTok video, POZZ users can share 10-100+ activities. Imagine 10x daily videos on POZZ, each contributing to carbon reduction. Could this tackle climate change? 'Switching off lights' trending with 1 million users in a video chain? Let's break it down.
Global CO2 emissions are 42.2 Gigatonnes yearly (Source: Climate Clock). 45% reduction by 2030 (Source: United Nations). Urban residents emit 10 tonnes yearly, around 28 kg daily.
A 1% CO2 reduction needs 300 million to cut 3 kg/day (10% of daily emissions). Or aim for 1 kg/day by 1 billion people (~12% of global population).
Together, we impact the Gigatonne monster. Calculations aren't rocket science – I'm an aerospace engineer. Let's continue.

Measuring CO2 reduction

For CO2 reduction, we utilise Clever Carbon's estimates for everyday activities like home, transport, and food. Establishing an 'avoided emissions' measure on the POZZ app involves listing various activities, applying a conservative % reduction, and calculating an average 'CO2 Reduced'.

Average CO2 reduced per activity

Let's take an average of this sample set to represent the amount of CO2 reduced by doing an activity on POZZ app. The average CO2 reduced in the table above is 494g per activity or 0.5kg! (Note: We started off with a more conservative estimate inside the app, by applying a rate of 147g per activity, and we hope to reach much higher targets of 0.5-1.5kg per activity on average.)

To estimate the overall CO2 impact of POZZ, we multiply the number of activities joined by the average emissions reduced per activity.

Anyone can track the number of activities being joined on POZZ and the corresponding CO2 reduction, which is displayed real-time on the home screen of the app and the website.

The ripple effect

We know our individual actions have ripple effects on the world around us. POZZ app is designed so that individual actions shared via video will have a knock on effect to inspire more actions.
Whilst we can tangibly measure the activities recorded in-app, our real goal is the myriad of actions we inspire outside of the app. We are especially focused on POZZ app's ability to inspire 'milestone' changes in people's lifestyle such as switching their car to electric or installing solar panels at home. To account for this ripple effect, we apply the 1:7 rule, where 1 action recorded and uploaded on POZZ results in 7 more actions!
By applying the ripple effect, we increase the amount of CO2 Reduced per activity on POZZ by 7x. So in the example above, 0.5kg x 7 = 3.5kg and that's our target HIT for 300m+ people!
